Vientiane Boat Racing Festival – Wat Chan
Watch the main Vientiane boat races on the Mekong at Wat Chan. Racing is scheduled from 08:30, with men’s 30-paddler boats and men’s and women’s 12-paddler boats. The awards ceremony is planned for 16:00. The races form part of the capital’s Boun Ok Phansa celebrations. The wider festival’s riverside fair runs from 23 to 27 October in Chao Anouvong Park and along Fa Ngum Road, with shopping stalls and traditional food.
